PARIS - Slovenia continued its tradition of winning medals at the 33rd Summer Olympic Games. The country secured two gold medals and one silver, placing it in a commendable fifth place on the gold medal tally per capita among 63 countries that reached the top podium. With three medals in total, Slovenia ranks 16th among 89 countries on this list.

LJUBLJANA - Results of the 4th round of the Telemach First League: Domžale - Olimpija 0:0, Celje - Kalcer Radomlje 4:2, Maribor - Mura 2:1.

STOCKHOLM - Spanish motocross rider Jorge Prado, the defending world champion in the MXGP class, won the Swedish Grand Prix for the World Championship in Uddevalla after victories in both races. Slovenian ace Tim Gajser, who leads the World Championship standings, finished second but lost eight points compared to Prado today, now holding a 17-point lead.

MONTREAL - Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev surprised top seed and world number one Jannik Sinner at the Masters in Montreal. The Russian won in the quarterfinals with a score of 6:3, 1:6, and 6:2, defeating the Italian for the second time in his career.
