WARSAW - Real Madrid's footballers won the UEFA Super Cup match in Warsaw, defeating Atalanta 2-0 and claiming this trophy for the sixth time in their history after victories in 2002, 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2022. The Champions League winners' goals were scored by Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappe.

BRDO PRI KRANJU - The Disciplinary Judge of the Football Association of Slovenia (NZS), Boštjan Jeglič, imposed the highest financial penalty after the 4th round of the Prva Liga Telemach on Maribor. The club will have to pay 2100 euros due to unsporting and inappropriate behavior of their spectators, multiple flare lightings, offensive chanting, and interruptions during Sunday's match against Mura at Ljudski vrt.

MADRID - Slovenian kayaker Simon Oven claimed the title of world champion in the classic sprint at the World Championships in Spain, the Slovenian Kayak Federation reported. This is his second world title in the classic category, following his 2018 victory.

ARNHEM - Slovenian beach volleyball players Tjaša Kotnik and Tajda Lovšin ended their participation in the European Championship in the Netherlands after the group stage. After losing to Czech opponents on Tuesday, they were defeated by two German teams today, finishing the competition in the group stage and placing 25th overall.

COURCHEVEL - Last season's best ski jumper, Nika Prevc, excelled in the first series of the second summer season competition in Courchevel. However, in the final, she fell from first to ninth place as the best Slovenian due to a binding release and a fall. Ema Klinec, the winner of Tuesday's opening competition of the Summer Grand Prix, finished tenth today.

COURCHEVEL - The best jumper of last winter, Stefan Kraft, started the summer season with two victories. After winning Tuesday's competition for the Grand Prix in Courchevel, the Austrian also won today. Only two Slovenians scored points. Žiga Jelar finished 28th, while Žak Mogel was disqualified in the final series due to an inappropriate suit.

WARSAW - Slovenian cyclist Matej Mohorič (Bahrain Victorius) finished eighth in the third stage of the Tour of Poland, advancing one place overall to seventh. The stage from Walbrzych to Duszniki-Zdroj, 156.5 km long, was won by Belgian Thibau Nys (Lidl-Trek).
